All About Glee

Glee is a musical comedy TV show that has become a global smash hit for Fox Television. Set in McKinley High School, it is the story about a bunch of misfits and outcasts who look for success through the schools Glee Club.

Central to the story running through the Glee Episodes is the struggle between Will Schuester (played by Matthew Morrison) against Sue Sylvester. Will Schuester is determined to make the Glee Club a success no matter what the cost whereas Sue, for her own reasons is determined to bring down the Glee Club and all of its members, no matter what the price to herself or to the students she uses as pawns.

Glee is now on to it's 3rd season and the Glee Episodes are becoming increasingly popular with massive audiences each week. Even the old Glee Episodes are still incredibly popular, pulling large audiences for re-runs. These Glee Episodes have spawned a massive merchandising industry, with everything you can think of having a Glee logo or character on it.

The Glee Club, portayed in the Glee Episodes is a concept that has really taken off since Glee was aired. It's basically a stage school for teenageers or even adults to perform and live out their dreams of stardom. You can read a very good history of the Glee Club and how the first named Glee Club was formed at Harrow School in England in 1787 here. It makes a good read for the background of a Glee Club.

The Glee Episodes show how the Glee Club struggles to get members and credibility in McKinley High. Many students see it as a place for losers and the members are desperate to win the Nationals to prove their worth. There is a constant struggle in the school between the Glee Club and the members of the highly popular and award winning cheerleading squad, the Cheerios.

This struggle itself makes for a good conflict which keeps you on edge wondering who will get the edge. Part of the struggle is to retain members, with a Glee Club needing 12 members minimum to compete in the Nationals (the elusive prize WilL Schuester is pursuing).

Glee is proving to be a big hit, as you can see from the Glee Episodes, and it is currently on Season 3, with more in the pipeline. With a show as successful as this and with the Glee Episodes drawing such a large audience and fanatical following, there is little chance of Fox cancelling it any time soon.
